Love of the outdoors ties together art and running for one Cirque Series racer
(KUTV) - The Cirque Series trail running event kicked off over the weekend with its first race at Brighton Resort. In its fourth season, the Series drew five hundred runners of every skill level to run the 6.7-mile race – the first of six courses spanning four states.
Kelly Halpin is a professional trail runner from Jackson Hole, Wyoming who also spends time in Moab. Saturday was her first time competing in a Cirque Series race. It comes as no surprise she loves running in the outdoors, but before she fell in love with running through nature, she was drawing it. Jake Edmonds takes a closer look at the professional runner who also makes a living as an illustrator.
