Utes host “A Night With Steve Garvey”
(KUTV) - Each February, just before the Utah baseball team sparks up a new schedule, Bill Kinneberg hosts a preseason banquet that features a keynote speaker to start getting folks excited about the season. This year the Utes welcomed ten time MLB All Star and 1974 NL MVP Steve Garvey, who actually began his career in Ogden after he was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Adam Mikulich is KUTV’s resident baseball nerd and hasn’t missed one of these events the entire time he’s with the Talkin’ Sports crew. In his interview with Garvey they talk about good things coming from humble beginnings, teammates and coaches that have left a mark over the years, and about the rewards of taking on a college career where many baseball players chose not to.
