Utah Gymnastics: Merrell-Giles scores first 10 of season and wants more

(KUTV) She earned her first "10" in Saturday's meet with Washington and Utah's MaKenna Merrell-Giles narrowly missed a second 10 in the same meet. The junior from Pleasant Grove had been averaging a 9.9 on the vault and she spent a few minutes with David James looking back at the last thing she had to master to get the perfect 10.

She also earned a 9.975 on the floor exercise and she thinks she has identified the last thing she has to perfect to get a 10 on the floor. Also watch for Head Coach Megan Marsden's explanation of what MaKenna tweaked before the vault landing, so she could stick the landing. It is straight out of NASA.
