Plane skids off runway at Baltimore airport
BALTIMORE (WBFF)-- BWI officials confirm reports of an incident as a plane was preparing for takeoff Wednesday morning.
Spokesman Jonathan Dean said as the aircraft was taxiing out for departure, it turned and stopped near the taxiway pavement edge.
Passengers took to social media to report the incident.
Video shows passengers walking from a Southwest Airlines flight to buses on the taxiway.
Officials say a Southwest Airlines Flight headed to Montego Bay skid off the taxiway with 149 people on board.
The plane remains on the taxiway near grassy median.
Passengers are being put on another flight.
BWI Marshall Airport operations employees responded to the incident scene, along with the BWI Marshall Airport Fire and Rescue Department, Maryland Transportation Authority Police, and Southwest Airlines personnel.
No injuries were reported.
