Homicide investigation: Dead woman found inside West Valley home

    (UPDATE 2/10/19 12:41 p.m.) -- West Valley City Police identified the victim as Belinda Thomas, 46, and the suspect as Darren Byrd, 50. Police also stated that it was Thomas' 5-year-old son who made the initial 911 call.

    (UPDATE 2/9/19 10:08 p.m.) -- West Valley police say the deceased woman is in her forties and knew the suspect.

    Police say they have identified "a person of interest" in her death and that person, an adult male, has been taken in for questioning.

    (UPDATE 2/9/19 8:59 p.m.) -- West Valley City police confirm that a body of a dead female has been discovered inside the home.

    No word yet on the cause of death.

    WEST VALLEY CITY (KUTV) -- West Valley City police are investigating what may be a homicide.

    Police responded to a 911 call for a welfare check at 3286 W. Chester park Drive.

    When police arrived and approached the trailer, they saw someone laying down inside the home.

    Police have not yet entered the residence as they are waiting on a search warrant.

    They are investigating the incident as a possible homicide.
