Utah substitute teacher arrested for alleged sex abuse of students
Davis County, Utah —
(KUTV) A former substitute in the Davis County School District has been arrested and accused of 3 counts of sexual abuse against a child.
Mark Bedel, 62, was a substitute at Wasatch Elementary on September 27 2017, when 2 separate parents contacted the school to report the alleged abuse. Bedel was arrested the next day by Clearfield Police.
The Davis County School District in a written statement told us, "We are shocked by the allegations, are taking this matter very seriously and are cooperating fully with investigators."
Bedel of Kaysville, does not have a criminal record of any kind. He began substitute teaching for the district in March 2016.
Prior to the incident, he did teach at several different Davis Co. Schools.
