(KUTV) - The Utah Gun Exchange (UGE) has offered to host March for Our Lives (MFOL) at its facility in Sandy after hearing of a "tour scheduling conflict."

“The message we are sending is . We welcome you to Utah, we understand you have a scheduling conflict, we have a solution for you, and we’d love to engage in dialogue," Sam Robinson, UGE CoOwner, said in a news release.

By hosting the event, UGE and MFOL would be able to engage in productive dialogue about their differing points of view.

“It’s ironic," Bryan Melchior, UGE’s Co-Owner, said in a news release. "We have been intersecting with the March for our Lives at various places around the Country and now we find ourselves in the perfect position to engage in very productive dialogue. This is a spectacular stage to demonstrate our unity in support of common sense school safety improvement measures. Given the short timing and complicated permit requirements, this option is perfect for the March For Our Lives. We look forward to hosting our friends at the MFOL this coming Saturday.”

MFOL, however, already had another contract in the works when they heard of UGE's offer.

"This morning, July 10, we received an invitation from the Utah Gun Exchange to host the event in their space in Sandy, UT," MFOL stated in a press released posted on Facebook. "While we are grateful for the offer, we were already engaged in a contract at the time it was received, and will certainly keep the space in mind for future events of this nature. We look forward to welcoming members of the Utah Gun Exchange to our public event for the opportunity for civil dialogue."

MFOL will host the event at the Megaplex Theatres in South Jordan on Saturday July 14 from 6 - 7:30 p.m.
