TRAX train derailment closed North Temple Street in both directions

    SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) -- A TRAX train derailment closed both eastbound and westbound lanes on North Temple Sunday morning.

    At approximately 7:38 a.m., the Utah Department of Transportation tweeted out that a crash near the intersection of Redwood Road and North Temple Street.

    Upon further investigation, 2News learned that the southbound Green Line train was hit by a vehicle, which derail it.

    The derailment closed North Temple in both directions. Police were on scene and there are no reports of injuries.

    Utah Transit Authority tweeted out at 10:20 a.m. that the train was re-railed and towed away, and the Green Line is back up and running; however, there are some signal issues because of the incident, so there are minor delays at the moment.
