(KUTV) -- After a string of burglaries and thefts, Vernal and Uintah County law enforcement arrested and booked Steven McCarrel into the Uintah County Jail.
The 19-year-old is being held on several charges because of his connection to the crimes. The charges include theft, vehicle theft and burglary. Additional charges will be filed soon, according to Vernal City Police and Uintah County Sheriff's Office.
McCarrel allegedly committed seven business burglaries, six thefts, four vehicle thefts, three criminal mischiefs and one attempted business burglary, according to a news release.
Charges are pending for McCarrel regarding the additional offenses.
The investigation of this string of burglaries and thefts started when Vernal police received a report of a burglary, theft and a motor vehicle theft from Uintah Middle School, according to a news release.
