(KUTV) -- Unified Police is searching for a suspect who stole a vehicle with children inside from a gas station in Midvale.

The vehicle and children have been recovered, but the suspect is still at large, police say.

Unified Police Sgt. Melody Gray said the children, ages 13 and 4 months, were in the backseat of the unattended vehicle at the Harts gas station when the suspect got into the car.

The teen, identified as Jocelyn, began hitting and yelling at the male suspect to let her and the baby go. He pulled into a parking lot at approximately 6900 South and State Street and took off running, Gray said.

He was last seen, fleeing on foot, heading southwest. Officers are actively looking for him.

A description of the suspect was not available at the time this story was published. Please check back for updates.
