UPDATE 5:55 p.m. - Trains have resumed their regular routes, but passengers should continue to expect delays.

(KUTV) - A man is in critical condition after being hit by a Trax train at the Ballpark Station at 1300 South 200 West in Salt Lake City.

UTA spokesperson Carl Arky says the man was wearing headphones and walked in front of the moving train.

The man was trapped under the train for some time as crews worked to get him out and to a hospital.

He is in critical condition but is breathing and alert.

If you're traveling in that area, a bus bridge is in place from 900 South to Central Pointe, but UTA is urging folks to use Front Runner from Murray to North Temple to avoid the area.
