Overnight fire damages 20 cars in SLC airport rental car lot

(KUTV) — A fire broke out early Sunday morning in the Hertz rental car lot at the Salt Lake City airport. Arson is suspected and is being investigated.

According to Nancy Volmer with the airport, 20 cars were damaged by the fire at the lot just north of the economy lot. Damage is estimated to be around $500,000. There were no injuries.

Salt Lake City Fire Department is investigating the blaze to discover who or what may have caused it.
