(KUTV) -- Moab Police arrested an Ontario man for felony distribution of marijuana on Saturday.
A Moab police officer responded to the area of 300 South and 100 East on a report of a possible illegal camper.
The officer found an unoccupied silver Volvo sedan and a small camp trailer parked at the location.
The officer looked through a trailer window and in plain view observed a large vacuum sealed bag containing a green leafy substance consistent with the odor and appearance of raw marijuana, Moab Police reported in a Facebook post.
Two additional officers arrived to assist and viewed more evidence of marijuana possession in plain view inside the Volvo.
Officers maintained surveillance on the vehicles while preparing an affidavit for a search warrant.
The next day, a male was seen approaching the vehicle and opening the door on the trailer.
Officers detained the subject, Evan Alexander Brown, 26, of Ontario, Canada. He was positively identified as the owner of both vehicles.
In a search incident to arrest, several baggies of marijuana were located on Evan’s person. He admitted to “giving away” the marijuana while “out at the bar.”
Upon receipt of the search warrant, officers searched the Volvo and the camp trailer, ultimately locating approximately 13 pounds of marijuana as well as paraphernalia, including a scale and plastic baggies of various sizes.
Brown was transported to the Grand County Sheriff’s Office jail where he was booked on charges including possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of paraphernalia.
