National study finds Utah is obsessed with Marvel movies
(KUTV) — Utahns are obsessed with Marvel movies — which you probably already knew.
With the potentially massive box office returns of "Avengers: Infinity War," set to blow into the Beehive State, along with the rest of the world, it turns out that while many states can identify a favorite film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Utahns' affections are divided.
Five other states also recorded a two-movie tie among favorite Marvel movies according to CableTV.com, but Utahns had a 14-way tie among the 18 movies made so far.
For example, Nevada likes Captain America films, most of Utah's other neighbors go for Iron Man, but along the Wasatch Front, the love is spread evenly. In fact, the only four movies that didn't make knot for favorites are the two newest ones and "The Incredible Hulk," and "Iron Man 3."
The massive box office smash "Black Panther," and recent hit "Thor: Ragnarok," are too new to have become ingrained into Utahn's hearts. Apparently the other films are just less interesting.
The results were tallied from Google Trends over the last five years.
Even though you can probably recite them all by heart, Google Trends says Utah loves the following film equally:
- Avengers: Age of Ultron
- Captain America: Civil War
- Captain America: The First Avenger
- Captain America: Winter Soldier
- Doctor Strange
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume Two
- Iron Man
- Iron Man 2
- Spider-Man: Homecoming
- The Avengers
- Thor: The Dark World
So how about it Utah? Did Google Trends get it right?
According to CableTV.com, you can watch them all before the newest one opens if you spend one day, 14 hours and seven minutes of watching.
