Ex-Utah Symphony stage manager sentenced for state income tax evasion
(KUTV) - Jeffery Kim Sturgis, a 50-year-old former stage manager for the Utah Symphony, was sentenced Thursday for failing to file a state income tax return.
Sturgis was ordered to pay $24,371 in restitution.
He paid $15,000 of that amount by order of 3rd District Court Judge James Blanch. Sturgies will also undergo 24 months probation.
The former stage manager pleaded guilty for failure to render a proper tax return.
He was originally charged with 11 felonies accusing him of failing to pay state income taxes between 2011 and 2015 while he lived in Utah, according to a new release.
During those months, Sturgis earned over $450,000.
