Cause of death unclear for Uintah County man who died during argument

The Uintah County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 67-year-old man who they say died after an argument turned physical.

(KUTV)- An argument ended in death for a 67-year-old Uintah County resident today, the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office says.

The incident occurred just after 1 PM Friday near Pelican Lake. Sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence in the area of 16100 East and 4500 South, where an argument had occurred between a 46-year-old man who lived there and the 67-year-old who was found dead.

A Facebook post from the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office says that “at some point during the argument, a hand gun was produced and the argument between the two men turned physical,” which resulted in the death of the 67-year-old. However, the sheriff’s office says no shots were fired from the handgun during the incident.

The sheriff’s office says the 46-year-old is cooperating with the investigation and has not been charged.

The investigation is still ongoing and the sheriff’s office says more information will be released when it becomes available.
