Arrest made in deadly 2015 hit and run
(KUTV) — Tyler Hurt, who was previously a person of interest in a 2015 deadly hit and run in Kearns, was arrested Tuesday by U.S. Marshals.
On Nov. 22, 2015 19-year-old Edgar Osvaldo Frayre-Rodriguez was traveling southbound on 4700 S. with in a group of three people on motorcycles.
When the group turned right to exit a Chevron, Frayre-Rodriguez swung too wide and wobbled, which caused him to be struck by an oncoming Jeep, which was driven by Tyler Hurt.
Hurt fled the scene in the Jeep and was sought by detectives.
On Jan. 9, 2018 detectives arrested Hurt in Redding, California with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal's Office.
Hurt is currently being held in Shasta County, California and is awaiting extradition and prosecution by the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office.
