2 people arrested after a Millcreek massage parlor is raided on prostitution suspicion
(KUTV)- Two people were arrested after an undercover prostitution bust took place at a massage parlor in Millcreek.
Located near 1231 East 3300 South, police say the massage parlor had only been operating for a month or two.
Neighboring business owners told police it didn't take long to notice something wasn't right. "There was always a bunch of guys coming in and out,” the manager of a store just a few doors down said. “You could tell they were up to something kind of shady because they would hold their hat over their head,” says a woman who did not want to be identified.
Lt. Manfred Lessig with Unified Police says police did an undercover operation, served a warrant, and made the arrests today after a few helpful tips.
Megan Fornelius, who works at Ma and Paws Bakery, an organic store for dogs, says she was always creeped out by the numerous men who would frequent the parlor.
“I’m constantly walking past these old men who are just idling in their trucks and you can feel their eyes on you, and you know what they're there for,” Fornelius said.
Fornelius says her boss worked hard to make sure the parlor was shut down by calling the police and city councilmembers. Finally, after 2 months, the groups of men roaming her parking lot will be gone.
“We have been waiting for this day for so long,” Fornelius stated.
