2 officer-involved shootings in one night in Salt Lake, Ogden

UPDATE: Salt Lake City Police have identified the man involved in the officer-involved shoot as Cody Belgrade, 30.

(KUTV) — Two officer-involved shootings were reported in two Utah cities on Friday night within hours of each other.

One person was shot and killed by Salt Lake City police in the area of 900 North Sir Patrick Drive.

2News first heard reports of that shooting at about 8:30 p.m.

About an hour earlier, Ogden police were involved in a pursuit with a person who they eventually shot.

That incident was first reported at about 7 p.m.

The person shot by police later died.

Investigators were on scene in the area of 21st Street and Union Ave. in Ogden.

Police protocol dictates an outside agency be assigned to investigate officer-involved critical incidents.

West Valley City officers were assigned to conduct an investigation into the deadly shooting in Salt Lake City.

It was unclear what agency would investigate the shooting in Ogden.
