(KUTV) Lucky Severson thought of himself as a terrible writer and tried out several different jobs before getting into journalism.
"I decided I even like to read the newspaper when I was down in Virgin, so I'll be a television newsman," he said.
He went around to the TV stations in Salt Lake City to see if he could get a job.
"Of course they didn't pay much attention to me," he said.
But eventually a news director let him hang around for awhile, and he ended up replacing the reporter who mentored him.
