(KUTV) Dave Kindig grew up in Salt Lake City and attended West High School.

A teacher at the school was a mentor to Kindig, who was involved in theater there.

He gave some advice to Kindig: "Surround yourself with the people you admire the most and the things you most want in life, and one day you can be admired like those people and have those things."

"I immediately starting buying Ferrari posters and hanging them up all over in my bedroom," Kindig laughed.

That advice stuck with Kindig and influenced him as he found success.

"It's never given to you. You have to go and get it," Kindig said. "What I found out was the only person that can keep you from doing what you want to do in this life is yourself."

Kindig plans to remain in Utah for the foreseeable future and continue doing his TV show, "Bitchin' Rides."
