(KUTV) After all of his success, Dave Kindig doesn't mind getting recognized out in public.
"My wife, certainly, she has learned to just ditch me in the mall," Kindig smiled.
Kindig recalls when he realized he and his shop, Kindig It Design, had "arrived."
He had been competing in car shows for several years.
"It was always a big dream growing up to have a car that would win 'Utah's Finest,'" he said.
In 2005, that dream finally came true.
"That was a pretty proud moment," he said.
He remembers bringing the winning car and his supplies back to the shop.
"I remember going over to my tool box and dropping off a set of keys and I broke down crying going, 'This was it. This was it,'" he said.
