(KUTV) Linnell Kunavich loves to sew.
"This is like a drug for me," Kunavich said.
Her home is filled with fabric and several sewing machines.
"I have a wonderful husband who supports my habit," she said.
But she loves doing this hobby the most when she's helping other people, especially members of the military.
"When you handle that fabric, you know where it's going," she said, getting emotional.
Kunavich and her friends spend several months each year sewing and stuffing Christmas stockings.
"We work night and day," Kunavich said. "We just go crazy buying fabric!"
Once the stockings are stuffed with special treats and items, they give them to Operation Give to send to troops stationed overseas.
"All together we have done between 10 and 12-thousand stockings in the last five years," Kunavich said.
Kunavich served in the Navy.
"I know what separation from family is all about," she said.
So she knows exactly what military members feel during the holidays.
"I never want them to know they're out there by themselves," she said.
So she works for months straight, with stockings and her helpers filling her home.
"I feel privileged to have had this opportunity," Kunavich said.
Mountain America Credit Union donated $500 to Kunavich to help her with more supplies.
