Cooking with Chef Bryan - How to Make a Vinaigrette


Let’s be honest, salads can be boring at times but creating a vinaigrette for your salad makes it come alive.


6 cups chopped lettuce

2 cups washed spinach

4 tomatoes, diced

4 celery stalks, chopped

1 bunch green onions, chopped

1 cucumber, peeled and chopped

1 cup sliced strawberries

1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

4-5 large strawberries, cleaned

1/3 of a yellow onion

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tbsp yellow mustard

Salt and pepper to taste


1) To make the salad, layer the lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, celery, green onions, cucumbers and strawberries on a large platter and set aside.

2) When ready to make the dressing, combine in your blender the extra virgin olive oil, large strawberries, yellow onion, brown sugar, mustard, salt and pepper to taste. Blend everything together until it is well blended.

3) When ready to serve, pour the freshly made vinaigrette over the salad, serve and enjoy
